Matthew Pierson (Holmfirth Harriers AC/Brooks) returned from 3 weeks warm weather training in Kenya to break the course record. His time of 65 mins 35 secs gave him a winning margin of over 7 minutes on second place runner Phil Coulson (Chester le Street), with Phil Taylor (Bridlington Road Runners) third, a further 5 seconds down.
In the Ladies race Becky Penty (York Acorn) and Josie Hodgetts (Otley AC) went though 7 miles together neck and neck before Penty pulled away to win in 1:18:37. Full results.
