In the Idle Trail Race, Stephen Broadbent (Bingley) got the better of Andy Whitworth (Meltham AC) and Will Kerr (St Bedes AC), with Lizzie Spencer (Leeds Bradford Tri) a comfortable winner in the women’s race.

Gareth Raven (Sale Harriers) got the better of Andi Jones (Salford) and Ian Grime (Newham & Essex) in the Saddleworth 6. Tess Walker (Salford) finished well clear of her rivals to take the ladies prize.

Wakefield Harriers ran out the winners in the Division 2 Promotion match at Cleackheaton, with Blackpool & Fylde AC just getting the better of Bolton United Harriers for second place.

Dave Watson (Holmfirth) was the runaway winner in the Cinnamon Lodge Chase 6, with Trevor Wicks (Leeds) just getting ahead of Andy Whitworth (Meltham) for second.

There was a bumper field for the Denis Stitt Memorial fell race were Matthew Roberts (Eryri) got the better of super Vet Steve Oldfield. Holmfirth had the next three places to comfortably take the team prize.

August also saw the finale of the ever-popular White Rose Youth League, where the overall series winners were presented with yellow jerseys.
