The Aire Valley Cycles Road Race (including the Nick Denby Memorial Trophy) saw David Shackleton (Cottingham Coureurs RT) going clear on the final lap for the win, with John Tanner taking the small group sprint for second.
There was an excellent turnout of over 420 athletes for Wakefield Harriers Spring Open Medals Meeting, with visitors from all over the North of England coming to Thornes Park Stadium, attracted by the wide programme of events and the electrical timing.
Martin Wheeldon (Doncaster Wheelers) took the 3-up sprint to win the Pete Gannon Road Race.
Blessed with bright sunshine, large numbers of cyclists set out on the Brian Robinson Challenge, a challenging 75 mile course taking in many climbs including Holme Moss.
